It’s Just Part of the Job

A routine service that prevented a costly repair


When a customer brought in their Bobcat E42 excavator for a scheduled interval service and to have a track issue checked out, our technician Jonathan noticed something else: two hydraulic leaks the customer didn’t know about.

‘They came in for a track that kept coming loose and a service,’ Jonathan says. ‘But I looked it over and saw that the pedal valve and isolation valve were leaking. I replaced both of them. If we hadn’t discovered the leaks,’ he continues, ‘the customer would have run out of hydrostatic oil — and if they’d kept running it like that, it would have burned up the pump.

‘But that’s what we do every day: it’s just part of our job to look it over.”

Because the customer followed their recommended maintenance schedule, those leaks were caught early - before they could turn into a major repair.
